Nidone Privacy Policy
Last updated: 12 October 2026
Nidone (“the app”) is an alarm clock that only stops when you clear a mission. This policy explains what data the app handles, where it is stored, how it is used and how to delete it.
1. Information collected
The app collects no personal data — no name, email address, phone number, location or advertising identifier (IDFA). It contains no third-party SDKs for analytics or crash reporting. Subscription purchases are handled by Apple; the app never receives your payment details. A profile photo is stored on the server only if you set one, so it can be shown to your friends (section 3).
2. What the app stores, and where
The following is stored only on your device and never leaves it (except what section 3 sends to the server).
- → Alarm settings (time, weekdays, mission types, sound)
- → Wake-up records (wake-up times, streaks, badges)
- → Your profile photo (the one picture you choose from your library; a reduced copy is also stored on the server as described in section 3)
- → The contents of the QR code used by the scan mission, and its registration
- → Mission results (correct or wrong answers, automatic difficulty adjustment)
Uninstalling the app removes all of this from your device.
3. What the friends feature stores on the server
To let you share wake-up times with friends, the app creates an anonymous account on first launch and stores the following on the server. It contains no name, email address, phone number or location.
| Data | What it is | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Anonymous user ID | A random ID that identifies the account | To tell your data apart from other people’s |
| Display name | The name you set in the app (“Me” if unset) | To show on your friends’ screens |
| Invite code | An 8-character code issued automatically | To send and accept friend requests |
| Friendships | Who, and whether accepted or pending | To decide who appears on the wake board |
| Next alarm time | When your next enabled alarm is due, and how many minutes count as oversleeping | To show “alarm at …” on your friends’ screens |
| Wake-up time | When you completed a mission, and which mission it was | To show “up at …” on your friends’ screens |
| Profile photo | Only if you set one. Reduced to 256 pixels per side, with no location or other metadata | To show it as your icon on your friends’ screens |
| Reports and blocks | Who you reported and why, and who you blocked | To deal with misuse (only the developer reads reports; the other person is not told) |
This is shown only to friends you have accepted (reports and blocks are shown to nobody). People with a pending request and people you have blocked cannot see your photo, alarm time or wake-up time. It is stored even while you have no friends, but nobody can see it.
4. How the data is used
The data is used only to provide the app’s features (alarms, missions, records and the friends’ wake board). It is never used for advertising, tracking or sale to third parties.
5. Sharing with third parties, and where data lives
Your data is never provided, sold or shared with third parties. Server-side data is stored in a database service (Supabase) operated by Supabase, Inc. as a processor on our behalf. All communication is encrypted (HTTPS), and the servers may be located outside Japan. Supabase’s privacy policy: https://supabase.com/privacy.
6. Device features the app uses
| Feature | When it is used | How the data is handled |
|---|---|---|
| Alarms (AlarmKit) | To ring at the time you set | On device only |
| Camera | To read the QR code in the scan mission | Video is neither stored nor transmitted |
| Motion sensors | To count shakes in the shake mission | On device only |
| Photos (add only) | To save the QR code image the app issues | The app never reads your photo library |
iOS asks for permission the first time each feature is used. Everything else keeps working if you decline — only the alarm permission is required, since without it nothing can ring.
7. Deleting your data
- → Server-side data: In the app, go to Me → Settings → “Delete friends data”. This removes the anonymous account, display name, profile photo, invite code, friendships, alarm schedule, wake-up times, and your blocks and reports. To remove only the profile photo, delete the photo in your icon settings; it is removed from the server as well. After that, nothing new is created or sent until you try to add a friend.
- → On-device data: Uninstalling the app removes it.
Uninstalling alone does not remove server-side data. To remove both, use the option above before uninstalling.
8. Children’s privacy
The app is not directed at any particular age group. You do not need to use your real name as your display name, and setting a profile photo is optional. Photos are shown only to your friends and are never made public.
9. Changes to this policy
Any change to this policy will be announced on this page with an updated date. If a change is significant, the app will tell you as well.
10. Contact
For questions about this policy or how the app handles data, and for requests to disclose, correct or stop using your data, get in touch below. You can delete your server-side data yourself at any time from inside the app (section 7).
