Nidone.
An alarm that only stops when you clear a mission. For mornings when you keep going back to sleep.
Frequently asked questions
→ The alarm does not ring
Open Settings → Nidone on your iPhone and check that alarms are allowed. Nidone rings through the iOS alarm system (AlarmKit), so without this permission nothing can ring. You can also check the current state in the app: Me → Settings → “Alarm permission”.
→ Does it ring in Silent mode or a Focus?
Yes. Nidone uses the iOS alarm system, so it rings regardless of the silent switch or Focus settings.
→ I cannot stop the alarm
By design, Nidone stops only when you clear the mission you set (math, shake, memory, Stroop or QR code). If you must stop it, an ✕ appears at the top right of the mission screen 60 seconds after the alarm starts; confirm twice and it stops. The day is then recorded as an emergency stop.
→ I pressed ✕ on the lock screen and it rang again
That is intended. An alarm whose mission is not finished rings again about 8 seconds after being stopped — the same applies to the ✕ on the lock screen, the side button and the volume buttons. Clear the mission to stop it. (It also stops one hour after the first ring, or when your next alarm is due.)
→ The mission is too hard
Wrong answers are never counted and never penalised — the same question is simply shown again. If you still cannot solve it, an ✕ appears at the top right of the mission screen 60 seconds after the alarm starts; confirm twice and the alarm stops (recorded as an emergency stop). You can change the mission type, difficulty and number of questions in the alarm’s settings, and try any mission without sound from Me → Settings → “Try a mission”.
→ How does the QR code mission work?
Go to Me → Settings → “QR code” to see the app’s QR code. Print it and stick it up, or show it on a spare device, and put it somewhere away from your bed, such as the fridge or the bathroom. Then tap “It’s in place”. The alarm keeps ringing until you scan that code. The same code appears every time you open it. If a QR code mission is due before you tap “It’s in place”, a math mission (Normal, 3 questions) runs instead.
→ How do I add friends?
Tap the button at the top right of the Friends tab to see your 8-character invite code. Share it with a friend; they enter it and send a request, and you accept. You can have up to 20 friends. Only accepted friends can see your profile photo (if you set one), wake-up time and next alarm time.
→ How do I remove a friend?
Friends → top-right button → swipe a friend to the left in the list → Remove (or use the “…” button at the right of their row). They are not notified.
→ How do I block or report someone?
Friends → top-right button → in the friend list, tap the “…” at the right of their row and choose Block or Report. You can also swipe a received request to the left to block it. Once blocked, you can no longer see each other’s name, photo or wake-up time, and they cannot send you a request. They are not notified. Reports go to the developer, who reviews them and takes action such as removing inappropriate photos. To unblock: Me → Settings → “Blocked users”.
→ How do I delete my data from the server?
Me → Settings → “Delete friends data”. Your display name, profile photo, invite code, friendships, alarm schedule and wake-up times are removed from the server. Alarms and records on your device stay.
→ I switched phones and lost my friends
If you migrated by restoring from a backup (iCloud Backup, Quick Start, or an encrypted computer backup), your account and invite code carry over unchanged. If you set the new iPhone up as new and installed the app fresh, a new anonymous account is created, so the invite code changes and friends have to exchange codes again. Signing in with the same Apple ID alone does not carry the account over.
→ Are there any ads?
No. There are no ads at all, whether you use the app for free or subscribe. The app uses no analytics tools and no advertising identifier (IDFA). See the privacy policy for details.
Pricing and cancellation
→ How much is it?
You can keep using Nidone for free, with no time limit. The free plan gives you one alarm, and all five missions, friends and records come with it. Your alarm never stops working because you did not subscribe.
What a subscription adds is more alarms — a different time for weekends, one more for naps. It comes with a 7-day free trial; cancel within it and you are charged nothing. From day 8 it renews automatically at JPY 500 per month. There is no yearly plan.
→ How do I cancel?
On your iPhone: Settings → your name at the top → Subscriptions → Nidone → Cancel Subscription.
Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription. It keeps renewing until you cancel it in the steps above. After cancelling you can keep using the app until the trial or the paid period ends.
→ What happens to my alarms if I cancel?
When the subscription ends we turn off your alarms, so they will not ring. Opening the app tells you that this has happened.
→ I got a new phone. Do I have to pay again?
No. Sign in with the same Apple ID and it carries over. If it does not appear, tap “Restore purchases” on the purchase screen.
Requirements
